Nelson Complex Waste Water Treatment Plant Solids Handling Improvements
2017 ABC Heart of America Excellence in Construction Award
Work performed under this contract includes improvements to two gravity thickeners, modifications to the sludge holding process, installation of a sludge holding tank mixing system, a new dewatering polymer system, rehabilitation of two centrifuges, installation of a new sludge screw conveyor, and upgrades to the associated electrical, instrumentation, and HVAC systems.
CID Pump Station Bar Screen Improvements
Work performed under this contract included rehabilitation of two existing bar screens and hydraulic system by replacing all moving parts, enlargement of the bar screen room floor door, replacement of two existing exhaust that serve the dry well and wet well, installation of a sluice gate and new louvered openings in the monitor room exterior wall.
Blue River No.14 Pump Station and Force Main
Work under this contract consisted of construction of a pump station, control building, parking areas, and approximately 2740 feet of 6 inch DIP force main with bore and casing, trenching, installation, backfill, restoration, and other appurtenances.
Pump Station Improvements
Work under this contract included pump station improvements at 6 different locations including concrete, miscellaneous metal, painting, mechanical piping, HVAC, electrical, jib crane and channel grinder equipment.
Rock Creek Aeration Improvements
Upgrade of existing Aeration System; including removal of four (4) mechanical aerators, the installation of a diffused air (fine bubbler) aeration system, 5 high-speed turbine blowers, and associated process piping, a CMU blower building, and associated electrical improvements.
Waukomis Pumping Station Rehabilitation
Clean water pump station rehabilitation including removal and replacement of four horizontal split case centrifugal 300 HP pumps (two direct drive and two variable speed drive) along with all associated mechanical piping, valves and yard piping, electrical room addition with all new electrical equipment, controls and instrumentation, masonry restoration, roof replacement, concrete foundations, structural steel framing and aluminum grating, chain hoist, site improvements including grading, asphalt roadway and pervious concrete pavement. All work was phased to allow the existing pump station to remain on line for continuous operation to serve the City’s water demand needs.
